Sunday 1.15pm (BBC1) Songs of Praise Claire McCollum visits the historical and religious sites of Colchester, founded more than 2000 years ago and Britain’s oldest recorded town. Laura Wright visits the Fellowship Afloat Christian Trust, which works with young people in outdoor activities.

Thursday 8.30pm (ITV1) Tonight: Miscarriage: Our hidden loss Andrea Byrne considers the silence about miscarriage, and the support that is available.

RADIO: Friday 11.30am (World Service) Heart and Soul As he returns home after six years in Moscow, Canon Malcolm Rogers describes his story of faith and diplomacy at St Andrew’s, a church ten minutes from the Kremlin (Comment, 28 July).

Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship A group of young Roman Catholics from the dioceses of Salford and Plymouth gather with pilgrims from around the world for World Youth Day; recorded in Lisbon.

1pm (R3) Choral Evensong A repeat of this week’s service from Eton College, sung by members of the Rodolfus Foundation Choral Course; recorded on 31 July.

Wednesday 4pm (R3) Choral Even­­song Live from St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh, during the Edinburgh International Festival.
